Presentamos aquí la edición número 12 del Dossier de la Redbioetica UNESCO Relatos sobre la pandemia, en este caso un relato que proponen Shereen Cox y Hariharan Seetharaman sobre la modalidad de prescripción fuera de prospecto (Off label) que adoptaron numerosos profesionales
médicos en la subregión del Caribe Inglés. El trabajo analiza cómo, a pesar de las indicaciones de los ministerios de salud, debido a la infodemia y a la influencia de distintos grupos de poder y de opinión, los médicos de varios países, transgredieron resoluciones e indicaciones de las autoridades regulatorias, sin beneficios probados y poniendo en riesgo la salud de los y las pacientes. Un artículo muy interesante para el debate que invitamos a leer, de igual modo que con las entregas previas de este dossier.

We present here the 12th edition of the Redbioetica UNESCO Dossier: Narratives about the pandemic, in this case an opinion piece proposed by Shereen Cox and Hariharan Seetharaman about the off-label prescription modality adopted by numerous medical doctors in the subregion of the English Caribbean. The text analyzes how, despite the indications of the ministries of health, due to the infodemic and the influence of different groups of power and opinion, numerous regulations and indications of the health authorities were transgressed by physicians without offering proven benefits and putting the health of patients at risk.
